Named for the creek that runs through it, the Mayde Creek area sits north of I-10 in unincorporated Harris County, upstream of Addicks Reservoir. The creek is part of the story of any wet yard here.
Upstream of Addicks
The Harris County Flood Control District names South Mayde Creek among the main waterways feeding Addicks Reservoir. The creek, the channel improvements the District has planned along its lower reach, and the reservoir itself are all public works, well beyond anything a homeowner or a yard contractor touches.
June 2018
ABC13 reported Mayde Creek spilling onto Greenhouse Road, closing the Saums Road intersection. No homes were affected in that event.
August 2017
Mayde Creek Farms was among the neighborhoods named in reporting on upstream flooding behind Addicks Dam during Hurricane Harvey.
July 8, 2024
During Beryl, Harris County reported South Mayde Creek at Greenhouse over its banks, according to Covering Katy News.
